The company has made very limited consultation with the local people. The comments in read like this-

Q8. Has the public consultation helped your understanding of the proposals and satisfactorily answered your questions?
Yes 1 = 8%
No 6 = 38.5%
Neutral/did not answer 5 = 38.5%
‘There has been none’, Pencaenewydd
Q9. If you answered ‘No’ to Question 8 why do you think that the public consultation has not helped your understanding of the proposal and/or answered your questions?
‘Been none’, Mr Delves
‘No public consultation has taken place and to my knowledge very few people have received your questionnaire.’ R J Lewis
‘Have not heard about any consultation. Have not received any information about the proposal, a neighbour told me.’ Mr and Mrs Kellett
‘What public consultation information?’ Mr and Mrs Griffith
‘More of the people of the villages near by ie Penceneydd and LLangybi should have had the information’, Mr and Mrs G C Roberts.
‘pa ymgynghoriad’ Mr and Mrs Hughes
‘What consultation’
‘It does not state in the consultation letter how the studies into noise, location, visual etc are being conducted.’

Q10. Do you have any other comments regarding this proposal that you wish to make?
‘As a local my wife and I came to wales to retire and enjoy the beauty of the unspoilt countryside and wish it to remain that way.’ Stan Delves, ‘Bryan Grahanog’.
‘The proposed development is totally unsuitable for the location which can be viewed several miles away in many directions.’ R J Lewis. ‘Pen Y Bryn’
Buasai’n well petai’r gymuned lleol wedi talu am y prosiect er mwyn cael yr elw allan ohono yn hytrach na chwmni o i ffwrdd. /‘It would be better if the local community had to pay for the project to get the profit out of it rather than a company.’ Anon
‘We will be looking at the turbines. It will detract Visitors to the area. I did not buy the property to look at wind turbines and spoil the views over the Snowdon mountain ranges.’ Mr and Mrs Kellett, Bryn Gorlan
‘We in this part of the country are in the most beautiful area. We don’t wish wind turbines to destroy the beauty of the countryside. The reason we came here to live is the tranquillity and the natural beauty of the terrain. I do hope that this questionnaire has gone to the village of P and Llangybi and all the houses and farms around.’ Mr and Mrs Griffith
‘The proposed sites for the turbines are much too close to my house. I also think they are much too high, causing an eyesore to the land. I would prefer to see one turbine instead and two and I would place it further towards Llangybi as marked by me on the enclosed map.’ Mr and Mrs Roberts, Maenllwyd
‘Ym ol fel mhe pethau ym mymd mi fydd yma dwrbeimi gwymt ar bob brym ym yr arowl ac mae pob um ym welhdwy o mynhchdy bach ac ym difethw harddwch mhturiol yr hrdal. Croeso i chwi ddo o draw I weld drosoch eich namaih’ Mr and Mrs Hughes
’In my view the site shown on the map is not suitable for industrialisation. It is on a quiet rural location and is too close to residential properties – surrounding farms. The site is known as ‘Garn Bentyrch’ due to the archaeological site registered with CADW.’ Beti Evans, Tyn Y Maes.

This was hardly a public consultation, it was more of a tickbox operation with possibly only 14 people!

people who will be effected by this development should have been consulted, not just a few very nearby. The map at the bottom of this page shows the extent to which people will be able to see these industrial scars on our landscape.

This companies website states -

If you can’t or don’t want to take on the financial risk of installing a turbine yourself then you can still benefit from a risk free annual income or receive a percentage of the projects revenue by partnering with ICE Renewables.

There is a potential total income of at least £250,000 (pre tax) in the next 20 years for good sites.

Good qualifying sites include :

  • those with no airports within 15km radius
  • good access to site
  • no major environmental designation
  • no residence with a 500m radius
  • a three phase grid close by

An annual income from this option could still be higher than installing a smaller turbine yourself.

ICE Renewables have an exclusive agreement for the supply and installation of Vergnet Turbines in the UK, Vergnet offers a light, compact and versatile design with an exclusive lowering system.

Over 450 are in use and there is 20 years of performance data available.

ICE Developments will be responsible for:

  • securing planning permission, and
  • facilitating finance for the project

The turbines will be seen from over a wide area –
